If you have seen it, you know the one I am talking about. * Now before I make a comment about the TV show “NCIS,” I want you all to know I have followed actor Mark Harmon’s career since he was the UCLA quarterback in the early 1970s, even forgiving him when UCLA beat Nebraska.

* I was watching the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders TV show and they referenced a dance jump one of the rookie candidates made to a jump David Lee Roth, lead singer of Van Halen, is famous for. That girl had the nerve to say she doesn’t even know who David Lee Roth is. Well, you can’t blame her for being too young, you have to blame her for not knowing what good music is! And if I had heard her say that, she would not have even made it into the Cowboy Cheer camp! She’s a dancer and I am sure throughout her life she has danced to at least one Van Halen song!

Here are a few sweet and salty items to add to your Thanksgiving snack table this year to help spice it up! Besides the traditional roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, corn bread and apple or pumpkin pie with three or four or five dollops (okay the entire container!) of whipped cream, check out these yummy tidbits…. Bugles—Symbolizing the cornucopia—the horn of plenty.

THIS AND THAT * Now that it is November, the pumpkin spice needs to move over to make a little room for fresh homemade apple pie. * Here’s an update on my “Supernatural” TV series watching.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Who will be dressed up in black and white On this Happy Halloween night? It’s my sweet Tessa as Cruella! And won’t she be a fabulous sight? My Trent will be a blue Power Ranger! And since my T-Man is almost six He is ready for lots of chocolate treats. Or maybe even ready for a few tricks! So Reese’s pumpkins and Snickers Are on the candy list, But let’s not rule out Milky Ways, Kit Kats and Twix! Trick-or-Treating down Main Street Is one thing they’ll do Then stopping at Grams on Halloween For another sweet treat or two! Painting pumpkins and fall decorating Has already been done.

* Who remembers the bake sales in the front of Ostmeyers? I swear there was one almost every weekend when I was growing up. And that’s when they baked everything from scratch! * Who remembers Peanut Day? It was so much fun buying a small brown bag or two of peanuts in front of the Record Office and looking for the name of one of the businesses nestled inside the peanuts so you could redeem the piece of paper for a prize? * Who remembers running into Webster’s Supermarket to fill up water balloons or water guns from the sinks in their bathrooms during the Summer Picnic? There was always a trail of water from the front door to the bathrooms that entire day! * Who remembers the two water fountains on Main Street? * Who remembers night swims at the pool when they turned on the underwater lights? * Who remembers the black cast iron pots the businesses used to cook the baked beans in for the annual summer picnic on Main Street? * Who remembers the annual Telethon when it was televised from the basement of the Main Street Christian Church? Classes, performers, etc.

* This is me. Now that it’s October all of the cobwebs and dust in my house just became my Halloween decorations.

HELLO OCTOBER! * Dear Great Pumpkin, I am ready for you to arrive on Halloween night! Bring me lots of Snickers, please! * Who remembers when McDonalds gave out GREAT Happy Meals that came in those plastic pumpkins, witches and black cats? * Okay, you can tell us. How many caramel apples have you eaten already? Or for those who drink coffee….How many pumpkin spice lattes have you had? * Is this for real? I saw where there is a limited edition of Hidden Valley CANDY CORN salad dressing.
