This And That

* Everything seems to be misleading these days. Case in point— went to a name-brand store a few weeks ago with my daughter. On almost every display and clothes racks in the place were signs that read “40% Off Sale.” We even asked the sales lady about the bargains. She said, “Yes, everything is 40% off.” So we went on our merry way and did a lot of shopping damage. Boy, were we surprised when we got to the checkout counter, and NOTHING we wanted to purchase was 40% off. The sales lady behind the counter said it was just a few “select” items that were 40% off! I guess you really do have to read the very fine print on all of the signs that were literally on every rack in the store! So that was our mistake, but to be told right to our faces that everything with a sign was 40% off is what gets me. Needless to say, I won’t be going back there any time soon.

* “You go, Ron!” I am with you 1,000%!

* The new “I’ve got some swampland to sell you” or “I’ve got a bridge I’d like to sell you” should be “If you want eggs, I’ve got a rooster to sell you as well as a bull if you want milk.”

* This post is so me….“When I say ‘the other day’ it can be anytime between yesterday and my birth.”

* And just the other day I saw a person wearing a Looney Tunes jacket. I told him I really liked it and I hope my comment made his day because the smile he gave me made mine!

* Saw an online poll with the question: “Do you approve of Biden’s first year in office?” The ONLY two answers you could choose from were: “Yes, he is doing a great job!” or “I am waiting to see what he does next.” How is that even a fair poll?

* As for the Oscars, the headlines read that the viewership for the 2022 event skyrocketed up over 50% from last year. That is so misleading…..What they don’t tell you is last year the viewership was 10 million (the lowest ever in history). This year it was 15 million, making it the second least watched broadcast since 1970 when they started recording viewerships for the event. It usually has a viewership of at least 20 million viewers. Anyway, those are the statistics that should be printed. And FYI: It has been a looong time, like years and years, since I have watched the Oscars.
