* Everyone knows the month of March is most often associated with St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland who devoted himself to prayer, fasting and walking the faith with the Irish people.
St. Patrick’s Day, which falls on March 17th, is his religious feast day and it began in the 17th century. It has evolved into a variety of festivals across the world, celebrating the Irish culture with parades, special food (corn beef and cabbage) and drink (especially beer), music, dancing and a whole lot of GREEN!
However, what people might not know that throughout the rest of the Catholic world (with the exception of Ireland) the month of March is associated with St. Joseph, the husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the foster Father of Jesus Christ. St. Joseph’s Feast Day is observed on March 19th, two days after St. Patrick’s Day. So if you are still in the celebrating mood, it is traditional to serve Italian dishes on His Feast Day, so make that special pasta dish and serve it with fried olives and fig cookies.

* You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax; all you need is a book. Dr. Seuss (March 2nd is Dr. Seuss Day.)
