This And That

* “The Sound of Music” first aired on the big screen on March 2nd, 1965. One of my favorite songs, no pun intended, from the movie is “My Favorite Things.” My fifth grade class at Robbins School in Omaha performed it at our Christmas concert. The girls all wore mittens.

* Forty years after the first Indiana Jones movie, a fifth will be in theatres in 2023. Harrison Ford once again dons his hat, leather jacket and whip for this latest adventure. No word on where in the world this will take place, what he’s after or in what time period, but I am all in! My lineup of the movies so far is “Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade,” “Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull” and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. We shall see where on the list the fifth one lands after I see it once or twice.

* I am putting my own little twist on this next saying…. With the Forty Days of Lent upon us, I would like to state, “I’m giving up eating chocolate for a month. Sorry, that was bad punctuation. I’m giving up. Eating chocolate for a month.”

* For some reason Jerry Reed’s song made popular in the late 1970s keeps going through my mind….

* I don’t know about any of you, but I don’t buy clothes, shoes, food or anything just because some “so called celebrity” promotes it. I buy what is well made, comfortable, affordable, and what my family and I need.

* I am firmly with the group of people that think when you cut a sandwich diagonally, you get more sandwich.
