The Stockton Tigers advanced to the semifinal round of the Class 1A, Div. I Sub-State Basketball Tournament after defeating the Rawlins County Buffaloes 62-51. The Tigers led Rawlins County the entire way of last Friday night’s game in Stockton, but the Buffaloes were always within striking distance.

In their final games of the regular season last Tuesday in Phillipsburg, the Stockton Tigers were handedly defeated by the host Panthers. The Lady Tigers were downed 58-33, while the Stockton boys lost 76-46.

Stockton Tiger senior Leighton Colburn represented Stockton at the KSHSAA Class 3-2-1A State Wrestling Championships held last Saturday at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays. Although Colburn was defeated in his first two matches, he made Tiger fans proud and can still stake claim to being one of the top eight wrestlers in the state at 132 lbs.
