According to the National Spring activities begin for the students in Kansas as a successful winter season ended with the culmination of the State Basketball Championships, March 13th. The KSHSAA is proud of students and staff in member schools for suc cessfully completing the winter season with 100% of the schools who took part finishing the season to a natural conclusion.

The Plainville-Stockton Softball Team will open its 2021 season next Tuesday when the girls play Russell at Plainville. Action will begin at 4:00 p.m. On Thursday, April 1 they will also be at home, this time against Ellis, with another 4:00 p.m. start.

JHET AND HUDSYN HAGAN were on the road again last weekend, competing in wrestling tournaments with both boys having good showings in their respective divisions. Jhet (left) brought home a second-place medal last Friday from the Holdrege, Nebraska Tournament in the 5th-6th grade bracket, and Hudsyn (right) was an eighth-place medalist in the 3rd-4th grade division at the NEUSA State Tournament on Saturday. Two days prior to the state tournament, Hudsyn had the misfortune of an accident which required two staples in his head, but he went on to compete and earn a medal. The boys are grandsons of Corky and Linda Hagan of Stockton.

Stockton senior Ethan Means, who was instrumental in taking the Tigers to a return trip to the state tournament this season, was recently named to the 2021-21 Mid-Continent League Boys’ Second Team. The MCL Teams are chosen by the coaches in the League. Means, pictured on the right, was the only Tiger to be recognized from either the boys’ or girls’ squads.
