BACKING THE TIGERS! The Stockton student section enthusiastically cheered on the Tiger boys during the quarterfinal round of the KSHSAA Class 1A State Basketball Tournament in Ness City against the Eagles. Although the game was played on their opponents’ home court, the Tigers had great support from its fans.

Janitor pulls heartstrings of thousands on Twitter

The sub-state basketball championship game between Holton and Wamego ended with a heartbreaking loss for Wamego, and with it seniors Tanner Hecht and Jackson White’s high school basketball careers. As they sat on the bench with their heads in their hands while taking in the loss, Wamego Janitor Pam Bedore showed her support and gave them comfort by placing her hands on their backs.

SHS Tiger boys denied return trip to Dodge City after 53-41 loss to Ness City

The Stockton Tigers’ season came to an end last Tuesday after a hardfought battle with the Ness City Eagles in the quarterfinals of the KSHSAA Class 1A, Div. I State Basketball Tournament. The game between the Stockton boys (10-11) and the Eagles (16- 7) was played in Ness City with the winner advancing to the semifinals at United Wireless Arena in Dodge City, where one year ago the Tigers upset the tourney’s top-seeded and undefeated Elbing-Berean Academy 38-35 in the quarterfinal round.

Hagan Boys Medal At Meets

IT WAS AN EXCITING weekend of wrestling for Jhet and Hudsyn Hagan. The boys wrestled in Axtell, Neb. on Friday, March 12th. Jhet (pictured left) got 1st in the 5th and 6th Grade 83-88 lb. division with three pins. Hudsyn (right) got 2nd in the 3rd and 4th Grade division. On Sunday, March 14th, they traveled to Sumner, Neb., where Jhet and Hudsyn both received 3rd place medals. Hudsyn has qualified to go to State in Grand Islandthis weekend, March 20-21. They are the grandsons of Corky and Linda Hagan of Stockton.

Four SWC wrestlers compete at State

Four girl wrestlers from Stockton Wrestling Club, Ashlyn Hahn, Kourtney Bigge, Carolina Northup and Mya Trevino, competed this past weekend at the USAWKS 2021 State Folkstyle Championship held at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane. This tournament is held for those girls and boys ages 8 & Up.
