ETHAN MEANS, a senior for the Stockton Tigers, was honored on Friday, February 19, for scoring 1,000 points in his career. Means achieved this milestone during the Stockton vs. Osborne basketball game held on February 12. Among those helping him celebrate prior to the Tigers’ game against Hoxie last Friday were his teammates, as well as several members of the Spirit Squad. The Stockton Tigers were at home last Friday for a non-league game with the Osborne Bulldogs. It was the second meeting of the season between the teams, having faced each other in the pre-season tournament in mid-December. The results of the contests were basically the same as they were in the first meeting with the Tiger Boys defeating Osborne 65-50, and the Lady Tigers falling 57-35.

The Stockton Wrestling Club headed west this past Saturday when they travelled to Oakley for the 2021 Dale Samuelson Memorial Wrestling Tournament. All three members competing placed in the Top 2.

The Stockton Junior High Tigers competed in the 2021 Junior Panther Classic in Phillipsburg last Saturday. Emerson Lowry (115) and Ashlyn Hahn (Girls 110) each placed first in their respective weight classes, while several other Tigers made the podium. As a team Stockton placed fourth with 51 points. Phillipsburg won the tourney with 213 points.

The Stockton Lady Tigers picked up their second win of the season with a 58-25 win over Northern Valley last Monday in Almena. The game was a make-up contest from the January 26 date which had been postponed. The Tiger boys had an exciting battle with the Huskies, but ended up falling 60-58.

SHS SPIRIT SQUAD members Claire Plumer, Logan Winklepleck and Delanee Bedore performed with the rest of their group during halftime of the Stockton vs. Hoxie boys basketball game on Feb.

Four members of the Stockton Tigers Boys Wrestling Squad will continue their quest for a spot in the state wrestling tournament after placing in the top four at the district tourney last Saturday in Phillipsburg.

The Stockton Junior High Tigers traveled to Hoxie last Thursday where they competed well against their opponents on the mat. They look to continue their winning ways this Thursday when they wrestle at home. Action begins at 4:00 p.m.
