Raven Long qualifies for regional tournament

Stockton’s Raven Long advanced to the KSH- SAA Girls Division II Regional Wrestling Tournament after placing third at the district tourney in Hoisington last Friday. She will be wrestling this Saturday at Trego Community High School in WaKeeney for a chance to advance to the sub-state tournament in Ellis on Friday, February 19. The top four wrestlers in each weight class will qualify.

SHS Tiger teams fall to Ellis Railers

The Ellis Railroaders were in town last Tuesday for a Mid-Continent League basketball matchup against the Stockton Tigers, with the Railers coming out on top in both contests. The Lady Tigers fell to Ellis 63-46, while the Tiger boys were defeated 54-44.

Tiger teams defeated by Hoxie Indians

The Stockton Tigers hosted the Hoxie Indians last Friday night with the visitors winning both Mid-Continent League contests over the Tigers. In the girls’ game, Stockton was defeated 36-17, while the Tiger boys lost 70-44.

Hulse and Basart place 2nd in MCL Tournament

Justus Hulse (152) and Rylan Basart (195) each placed second at the 2021 Mid-Continent League Wrestling Tournament held last Friday at Norton. Leighton Colburn (132) finished the tourney in third place, while Raven Long (155-170) was fourth on the girls’ side. Coach Clint Bedore was proud of his group stating, “We are wrestling well heading into District qualifying.”
