Cole Flower was the sole competitor from the Stockton Wrestling Club who participated in the “Battle of the Belt” Wrestling Tournament this past week in Peck. Flower, wrestling at 6 & Under 70 lbs., remains undefeated on the season.

Stockton’s Raven Long advanced to the KSH- SAA Girls Division II Regional Wrestling Tournament after placing third at the district tourney in Hoisington last Friday. She will be wrestling this Saturday at Trego Community High School in WaKeeney for a chance to advance to the sub-state tournament in Ellis on Friday, February 19. The top four wrestlers in each weight class will qualify.

The Ellis Railroaders were in town last Tuesday for a Mid-Continent League basketball matchup against the Stockton Tigers, with the Railers coming out on top in both contests. The Lady Tigers fell to Ellis 63-46, while the Tiger boys were defeated 54-44.

The Stockton Tigers hosted the Hoxie Indians last Friday night with the visitors winning both Mid-Continent League contests over the Tigers. In the girls’ game, Stockton was defeated 36-17, while the Tiger boys lost 70-44.

Justus Hulse (152) and Rylan Basart (195) each placed second at the 2021 Mid-Continent League Wrestling Tournament held last Friday at Norton. Leighton Colburn (132) finished the tourney in third place, while Raven Long (155-170) was fourth on the girls’ side. Coach Clint Bedore was proud of his group stating, “We are wrestling well heading into District qualifying.”

The Stockton Tiger wrestlers traveled to Oberlin last Thursday for a tournament. Several Tigers went undefeated on the night: Ashlyn Hahn, Mya Trevino, Bodye Stithem and Kourtney Bigge. This Thursday Stock

The Stockton Wrestling club sent three wrestlers to Atwood this past Saturday to compete in the Atwood Kids Open. Once again, Cole Flower came home with first place, followed by Zeke Balthazor with 3rd, both competing in round robins.

HUDSYN HAGAN, grandson of Corky and Linda Hagan, recived a 1st-place trophy at Amherst, Neb., on Sunday. He wrestled in the 3rd and 4th grade 40-50 weight division..
