Tiger Boys finish 9th in MCL Tournament

After defeating the Plainville Cardinals in the backside game on Tuesday, January 18 in Plainville, the Stockton Tigers advanced to the ninthplace game against Russell last Thursday in Stockton, where the Tigers came out on top 60-51.
CAMERON LINDSEY sank two, second-half treys, helping the Tigers to a 53-48 win over Plainville in the MCL Tourney game on January 18 in Plainville.

The Stockton Tiger wrestlers were in Beloit on Saturday for the Beloit Invitational where they placed four on the awards stand. Leighton Colburn (132) and Camden Iwanski (145) placed second, Justin Knoll (138) was third, and Rylan Basart (182) was fourth.

The Stockton Wrestling Club travelled to Norton this past Saturday, sending six wrestlers to Norton to compete. The tournament was set up with a morning and afternoon session.

Post-season wrestling assignments for 2021

The 2021 post-season wrestling assignments have been announced for the “COVID-style” season, with the road to the state tournament being a little unusual this year. Stockton has been assigned to District #1 o the Boys’ 3-2-1A Districts.

Lady Tigers win exciting game over Plainville

The Stockton Lady Tigers won their first game of the season last Thursday, defeating the Plain-ville Lady Cardinals 49-41 in the 11th-place game of the 2021 Mid-Continent League Basketball Tournament held in Plainville. The Lady Tigers led the entire way, but Plainville was able to stay within striking distance to the very end.

Smith Center girls and Hoxie boys win MCL Tourney

The Smith Center Lady Redmen and Hoxie Indians are the champions of the 2021 Mid-Continent League Basketball Tournament. Smith Center defeated Norton in the girls’ championship game 64-47, while the Hoxie boys downed Trego 70-54 to win the championship.

Colburn takes first at Oberlin meet

Stockton Tiger senior Leighton Colburn won the Buzz Matson Invitational Wrestling Tournament held last Saturday in Oberlin. En route to the championship in the 132-lb. weight class, Colburn won by a fall over his first two opponents, and then claimed a major decision over Aidan Hockman of Hill City to take his place on top of the podium.

Tiger Boys hold on for win over Victoria

Last Tuesday Stockton hosted Victoria in a non-conference game with the Tiger Boys holding on for a 43-39 victory, but the Lady Tigers falling 60-30. The first half of the boys’ game was a slow one with neither team finding their stride.
