Last Friday and Saturday three Stockton Tiger wrestlers, Emerson Lowry, Jace Hartman and Ryan Mongeau, competed in the Beloit Invitational. Although none of the grapplers placed at Beloit, they hope to change that when they compete in the Mid-Continent League Wrestling Tournament this Saturday in WaKeeney. Action begins at 1:00 p.m.

Ashlyn Hahn continued her winning ways in 2022 with a first-place finish at the J.R. Durham Invitational Wrestling Tournament held in Norton on Saturday, January 8. Hahn won by a fall in her first two matches before earning a 7-4 decision over Sabrina Todd of Norton in the first-place match.

Five Stockton Tiger Wrestlers traveled to Oberlin last Saturday for the Buzz Matson Invitational in which 12 teams competed. With 29 points, the Tigers finished eighth, with four wrestlers placing in the top five: Ryan Mongeau (285) was third, Emerson Lowry (126) and Jace Hartman (160) were fourth, and Deacon Creighton (195) was fifth. Mongeau, Lowry and Hartman finished 2-2 on the day, Zach Young was 1-2, and Creighton was 0-4.

The Stockton High School Girls Wrestling Team, along with 19 other teams, competed in the Hays Girls Prairie Classic last Saturday in Hays where Ashlyn Hahn finished second, Rivver Long, third, and Raven Long, fourth. Ryleigh Gardner and Shyanne Balthazor also wrestled, but did not place.

The Stockton Junior High Wrestling season opens this Thursday when the Tigers travel to Plainville. The action on the mats will begin at 4:00 p.m.
