Last Friday kicked off the 2021-22 campaign for the Stockton Lady Tigers when they hosted Russell in Mid-Continent League basketball action. The Stockton girls were defeated in their opener 65-44.

The 2021 Mid-Continent Elementary League Basketball Tournament got underway last Thursday with first-round competition. The Stockton girls, who had a number 12 seed, were defeated by fifth-seeded Phillipsburg 11-35, while the Tiger boys, also a 12th seed, fell to Phillipsburg, the fifth seed, by a score of 62-5.

On Tuesday, November 30, the Stockton Junior High Tigers traveled to Hill City to take on the Ringnecks in MCEL basketball action. On the boys’ side, the Tigers were defeated in all three games.

The Stockton Tiger Wrestling season got underway last Saturday with tournament action in Osborne and Goodland. Emerson Lowry and Zach Young competed in the Osborne Invitational, while Ryleigh Gardner, Ashlyn Hahn, Shyanne Balthazor, Lukas Sager, Jace Hartman, Deacon Creighton, Raven Long, Rivver Long, Ryan Mongeau, and Ethan Day wrestled in the Goodland JV Wrestling Tournament.

The Stockton Junior High Basketball Teams were on the road to Phillipsburg last Monday to take on the Panthers in Mid-Continent Elementary League action. Unfortunately the Tigers came out on the short end of all the games.

Last week the Stockton Junior High Tigers had another busy week of basketball, traveling to Ellis last Tuesday, November 16, and hosting Plainville on Thursday, the 18th. This Monday the Tigers were on the road to Phillipsburg, and on Tuesday, November 30th Stockton will play the Ringnecks in Hill City.

Two people—one a coach and the other an athlete—both with ties to the community of Plainville, are doing big things for a cross country program in western Kansas. Brady Johnson, head cross country and assistant track coach at Colby Community College, along with Chayse Mc-Cullough, a member of the CCC Cross Country Team, are both former graduates of Plainville High School.
