Lady Tigers capture first win of season

The Stockton Lady Tigers found themselves in the win column for the first time this season after defeating the visiting Hill City Lady Ringnecks 38-28 last Friday evening. Kaelyn Means got the Lady Tigers on the scoreboard just 17 seconds into the game when she hit a trey.

Lady Tigers fall in MCL Tourney play-in game

Last Saturday afternoon the 12th-seeded Stockton Lady Tigers faced the fifthseeded Hoxie Lady Indians in the play-in games of the 2022 Mid-Continent League Basketball Tournament. The Lady Tigers, who struggled to get anything going on offense, were defeated 50-19.

Three SWC members compete at Plainville

The Stockton Wrestling Club sent three of its members to the Phillipsburg Novice Wrestling Tournament held on Sunday, January 9. Jake Cockrell placed 1st, while Judsten Cockrell placed 2nd and Blake Balthazor placed 5th.

SWC opened the season on the road in WaKeeney

The Stockton Wrestling Club began practicing for their 2021-2022 season in early December. The club holds practice The club holds practice sessions on Monday evening for novice wrestlers and the tournament wrestlers practice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

SHAE GRIFFIN (left), a student at the University of Kansas, won herself $50 for making a half-court shot during halftime of the Stockton vs. Smith Center girls’ basketball game on Tuesday, January 4. At each home game, Don Moffet (right), agent for Farm Bureau Financial Services, puts up $50 for three people to attempt one shot from half court. If the shot goes through the net, the shooter gets a $50 bill. The three shooters are drawn from chances purchased for a StuCo fundraising effort.

Lady Tigers defeated by Smith Center

The Stockton Lady Tigers hosted the Smith Center Lady Redmen last Tuesday night in Mid-Continent League basketball action, and were defeated by the score of 74-34. Stockton got on the scoreboard first when Kaelyn Means hit a basket, and another basket by Means at the 5:35 mark of the opening quarter gave the Lady Tigers a 4-3 lead.

Rylan Basart chosen to play in the 2022 8-Man All-Star Game

Stockton senior Rylan Basart recently received a well-deserved honor when he was among the all stars chosen by the Kansas Eight Man Football Association (KEMFA) coaches to play in the 37th Annual Kansas 8-Man All- Star Game as a member of the Division I West Squad. The game is scheduled to be played on Saturday, June 11 at Trojan Field in Beloit.

Hartman places fourth in Durham Invitational

Jace Hartman wrestled his way to a fourth-place finish at the J.R. Durham Invitational held on Saturday in Norton. Hartman was the only varsity wrestler to compete for the Tiger boys. He was defeated in the quarterfinal round, came back to win his next two matches, but lost in the third-place match to finish fourth.
