HELLO OCTOBER! * Dear Great Pumpkin, I am ready for you to arrive on Halloween night! Bring me lots of Snickers, please! * Who remembers when McDonalds gave out GREAT Happy Meals that came in those plastic pumpkins, witches and black cats? * Okay, you can tell us.

THIS AND THAT * The Stockton Pumpkin Patch is this weekend!! A Halloween event near and dear to my heart. This, and other community events could not be possible without the hard work of many volunteers helping out before, behind the scenes, and during these events to make them happen!

* The Halloween Baking Shows are getting ready to air for this season! I love anything the bakers make out of chocolate and I marvel at the way they can carve up a pumpkin! * Interesting quote from the movie, “A Bug’s Life”…. “You let one ant stand up to us, and they all might stand up!

* Just an FYI….For all you Pioneer Woman people, Ree Drummond will be starring in the first ever Food Network Christmas movie, entitled “Candy Coated Christmas.” * Just wondering if the Rock cried any manly tears about what happened and is happening in Afghanistan. * Just saying….Since it is...

* I smell pumpkin spice! * And speaking of pumpkin spice and everything Autumn and Halloween, on August 22nd my sister and I were in a few stores looking for their Halloween aisles.

* Don’t go to the paint store to get thinner, it does not work. * It’s the little things that count! A former McDonald’s worker has admitted to putting an extra chicken nugget in the boxes for years! Way to go! * Unleaded gas was $2.94 at the end of July.

This summer, my sweet niece and goddaughter, Jenny, took her family of five on a road trip from California throughout the Midwest, and back again. The more than month-long trip was quite the adventure for them and it was planned out to a T!

* A word of advice….DO NOT watch “The Buddy Holly Story” and “LaBama” on the same weekend, let alone the same day!
