Just This and That
* Just an FYI….For all you Pioneer Woman people, Ree Drummond will be starring in the first ever Food Network Christmas movie, entitled “Candy Coated Christmas.”
* Just wondering if the Rock cried any manly tears about what happened and is happening in Afghanistan.
* Just saying….Since it is September, I do have fall items placed here and there in my house. However, I won’t put up any Halloween decorations until October 1st.
* Just read this….Did you ever know that that the first letter in the months of July, August, September, October and November spell out Jason? Spooky! And no, I have never watched any of those “Friday the 13th” movies!
* Just don’t like it….Nowadays the movies have changed over to using CGI animals, and I don’t like it one bit! What happened to REAL animals playing the parts? Lassie, Flicka, Rin Tin Tin, Mr. Ed and Cheetah did a fine job of acting.
* Just do it!....Families need to write down their special recipes. My sister, Mom and I did it several years ago and I am so thankful we did. It was a fun time and now is a lovely memory. We wrote them down or copied quite a few of the old recipe cards, and then added some family photos on each page (remember to identify the family members, you may know them but your grandkids don’t). Once we were finished we made copies for each of my sisters and brother. My advice, do it now because some of those great recipes you look forward to at family gatherings are only in the minds of your moms, dads, aunts, uncles and grandparents!
* Just letting you know if you didn’t already….I do so love Fall and Halloween, but only the cute Halloween stuff! I love pumpkins and Jack-o-lanterns, fall leaves, caramel apples, hot cider, hot cocoa, hoodies, Halloween candy (especially Snickers), cute costumes, trick-or-treating, mums, popcorn balls, “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” movie, pumpkin spice rolls, going to pumpkin patches and football. You get my drift?
* Just say their names.…Nancy Pelosi, say their names, all thirteen of them.
* Just a happy memory….When Dad and Mom opened up the bowling alley (Stockton Lanes) in Stockton 56 years ago, the article in the Rooks County Record about their business came out on my birthday!
