This and That

* The Halloween Baking Shows are getting ready to air for this season! I love anything the bakers make out of chocolate and I marvel at the way they can carve up a pumpkin!

* Interesting quote from the movie, “A Bug’s Life”…. “You let one ant stand up to us, and they all might stand up! Those puny little ants outnumber us a hundred to one. And if we ever let them figure that out….‘THERE GOES OUR WAY OF LIFE!’ It’s not about food. It’s about keeping those ants in line.”

* Makes you put time into perspective….Did you know that 1980 and 2021 are as far apart as 1980 and 1939?

* I always loved this time of year when I was young because the Sears and Roebuck Christmas catalog would arrive, and I would pour over every page for hours marking down everything I wanted Santa to bring me! Who else did this?

* Here’s a cooking tip I read about. When a recipe calls for unmelted butter, instead of waiting for it to soften if you forgot to take it out of the refrigerator, get out your cheese grater and use it. Pretty nifty!

* September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Show your gold and make a contribution to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

* And since this editorial is turning into quotes I have read, here is another one….“History is not there for you to like or dislike. It is there for you to learn from it. If it offends you, even better. You will be less likely to repeat it. It is not yours to erase or destroy.” And here is my two cents worth: people lived that history, good and bad; don’t forget any of it or them!

See I am tired of waiting for answers from those states doing the election recall. I say we flood social media on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, newspapers, etc. and say who we voted for in the 2020 presidential election. And I mean everyone, not just the people in the states doing the recalls. I’ll go first. I voted for Donald Trump. Let’s see how they would fact check those numbers!
