There will be a government surplus commodities distribution on Monday, July 26th for those in the Stockton and Plainville areas. In Stockton, the distribution will be held on Monday, July 26th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the VFW Hall. You are asked to please enter through the front door at 314 Main Street.

The menus for the week beginning Monday, July 26th, are as follows: Monday—Salisbury steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, bread, pears. Tuedsay—Ovenbaked chicken, potato salad, tropical fruit, bread, pudding. Wednesday— Pasta salad with ham, mandarin oranges, crackers, bar cookie. Thursday—Turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomato and onion, three bean salad, bun, watermelon. Friday—Sausage gravy, tater tots, strawberries, biscuit, brownie.

Wanted: Wheat to exhibit at the Rooks County Free Fair

Plan now to exhibit your wheat at the Rooks County Free Fair Market Wheat Show. Exhibits must consist of a minimum of 20 pounds of combine run wheat and NO SHEAF!

Entries will be accepted on Sunday, August 8th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Monday, August 9th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
