Downtown Plainville, Inc. meets with county commissioners

Body
At the May 27th regular weekly Rooks County Commission meeting, Justin Casey and Justin Prater with Downtown Plainville Inc. were present to discuss the project with the commissioners that the non-profit organization is working on. They are tearing down the remaining buildings on the old lumberyard in Plainville, with plans to turn the site into a community park. They reviewed the plans with the commissioners and informed them that the organization would pay the original back taxes owed, approximately $3,200.00, on the property but would like to have the interest and late fees of $857.00 waived. They would also like to have the landfill fees waived or reduced from the demolition of the structure on the lots. The commissioners will meet with the county attorney to discuss interest and late fees.
