On Friday, November 13th the following message was sent out: Rooks County has seen a significant increase in both the number of positive cases and the rate of positive tests. During the month of October, RCH tested an average of 50 people per week and had a positivity rate of 22%.

The regular weekly meeting of the Rooks County Commission was held on Thursday, November 12th. The commissioners met to canvass the votes from the General Election, and to conduct regular business.

Stockton’s Olde Tyme Christmas has been canceled for this year due to the recent outbreak of COVID in the community. Even though the event is canceled, there are still activities scheduled throughout the month of December.

As of Monday morning, November 16th, the Stockton Farmers Union Elevator has taken in a total of 616,000 bushels of milo and 173,000 bushels of corn. The Woodston Coop has taken in 176,000 bushels of milo and 415,000 bushels of corn.

The Stockton City Commission has signed a contract with Parkway Construction as a first step for a building design plan of a new facility for the Solomon Valley Manor. At this point in time, the focus will be on developing a design that will meet the present-day needs of the residents and staff.

In last Tuesday’s General Election Adam Bryant and Jesica Kerr won the two Stockton City Commission seats which were up for grabs. Bryant (403) and Kerr (393) outdistanced a third candidate, Leo Inglsbee (222), who was also vying for the position.

The Mill Street Market in Alton will be held this Saturday, November 14th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with vendors displaying their wares at The Front Porch Event Center and Bakery, and the Legion Hall, both located on Mill Street.
