PRIDE cleans up downtown Stockton
The goal for this year’s PRIDE project was to focus on Stockton’s Main Street cleanup just in time for the town's 150th celebration. The Stockton High School students, teachers, staff and volunteers were out in full force on Wednesday, October 19th, during the PRIDE Work Day.

Employees talk wages with commissioners
At the regular weekly meeting of the Rooks County Commission held on Tuesday, October 11th, several road and bridge employees were at the morning session to talk about wages in the department.
Survey starting on K-9 bridge in Smith County
The Kansas Department of Transportation has started a field survey for a proposed project to replace the Beaver Creek bridge along K-9 in Smith County. The bridge is located near the west city limits of Gaylord.
County Commissioners listen to K-Camp and K-Worcc proposal
The Rooks County Commissioners listened to the proposals from Dave Luke with K-Camp and Jesse Pfannenstiel with K-Worcc dealing with a self-insured property and casualty plan as well as a workers compensation plan for the County.
Fall Turkey Season in full swing
The Fall Turkey Season began on Saturday, October 1st and will run until Thursday, November 10th in units 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6. Unit 4 is closed. This is for archery and shotgun with the shooting hours to begin one-half hour before sunrise to sunset.
City holds short meeting
At the regular meeting of the Stockton City Commission held on Tuesday, October 4th, the commissioners began their work session by approving Resolution 1685, which approves the name change for the Kansas Power Pool.
