Tigers fall to Osborne in non-league games

The Stockton Tigers found themselves on the short end of the scoreboard in both the girls’ and boys’ non-league basketball games against the Osborne Bulldogs last Friday in Stockton. The Lady Tigers were defeated 63-39, while the Tiger boys fell 59-22.

Justin Knoll reaches 100th career win on the mat

Former Stockton High School wrestler Justin Knoll reached his 100 career wins milestone on Saturday, February 4, at the Nebraska State Activities Association State Dual Championships held in Kearney. Knoll, who lives in Rising City, Neb. and attends Shelby- Rising City High School, attributes his success to a number of local people who have had, and continue to have, an impact on his life.
DAN AND DAWN KNOLL OF STOCKTON shared the joy of their grandson’s recent milestone. Justin Knoll, a senior at Shelby-Rising City High School in Nebraska, reached 100 career high school wins last Saturday in Kearney, Neb.

Vinny Thayer goes 3-0 at Stockton JH Round Robin

Stockton Junior High hosted its annual round robin last Thursday with seventh grader Vinny Thayer being the only Tiger to go undefeated on the day. Thayer picked up wins over Betsold of Osborne, Richardson of Smith Center and Graf of Osborne.

Northup, Hahn and Long qualify for girls state wrestling tournament

Carolina Northup, Ashlyn Hahn and Rivver Long have qualified for the KSHSAA Girls 4-3-2-1A State Wrestling Tournament to be held on February 22 and 23 at the Salina- Tony’s Pizza Events Center in Salina. The three ladies accomplished this feat after placing in the top four at the regional tournament held in Hoisington last Saturday.

Four Stockton Junior High wrestlers placed at the Jr. Panther Classic held last Saturday in Phillipsburg. Mia Odle (110) Shae Yohon (145) and Isaac Thayer (160) each placed third, and Aidyen Kerr (125) finished fourth.

Tiger Wrestlers compete at the Panther Classic

The Stockton Tigers were in Phillipsburg last Saturday for the annual Panther Classic. The Tigers wrestled hard, with each of them picking up wins on the day. Emerson Lowry and Ryan Mongeau didn’t make the podium, but put up a fight against some tough competition. The three girls who wrestled, Carolina Northup, Temprance Northup, and Ashlyn Hahn each made the podium, placing third in their respective weight classes. This Friday and Saturday the Stockton girls will travel to Hoisington for the Class 4-1A Regional Tournament where they will attempt to punch their ticket to the state tournament which will be held February 22 and 23 in Salina. The Tiger boys are off this week, but will come back the following Friday and Saturday, February 17 and 18, to compete in their regional tournament which will be held in Beloit.

Tiger teams fall to Ellis Railroaders

The Stockton Tigers hosted the Ellis Railroaders last Tuesday in Mid-Continent League basketball action with the Tiger teams coming up on the short end in each contest. The Lady Tigers fell to Ellis 54-17, while the Tiger boys were defeated 50-24.
