Couse wins the 100MH and 200MH at Smith Center

Sixth grader Brooklyn Couse began her junior high track season with two wins, earning a gold medals in the 100M Hurdles and 200M Hurdles in the seventh-grade girls division of the Smith Center Junior High Track Meet held on Thursday, April 6. Couse was the only Tiger athlete to win an event, however Lyllyn McNulty, also a sixth grader, placed second in the 200M Hurdles.

RoCo Girls split with Ellis Lady Railroaders

Last Thursday the RoCo Softball Girls hosted the Ellis Lady Railroaders in a doubleheader with the RoCo girls splitting with the visitors. In the first game, RoCo won in exciting, come-from-behind fashion by the score of 18-17, but the local girls fell in game two 22-7. The split gives RoCo a 3-1 record on the season.

Stockton sophomore Ava Dix collected three gold medals at the first track meet of the 2023 season last Thursday at the Hoxie Invitational. She walked away with firstplace finishes, winning the 100 Meters, 200 Meters and Long Jump.

Tiger Powerlifting Team competes at Solomon Gorilla Invitational

The Tiger Powerlifting Team was on the road to Solomon last Friday for the Solomon Gorilla Invitational. The Tigers made another good showing with Cason Iwanski placing first overall, and finishing first in pound per pound ratio, which is the total of the core lifts, divided by the lifter’s body weight.

Tiger Golf season is now underway

The Stockton Tiger Golf season got underway this Tuesday when the golfers traveled to Smith Center for a meet. Stockton, who is coached by Heath Muir, has a roster of two girls and five boys. They are: Girls—Taigen Kerrn(Sr.); and Cheyene Carlson (Jr.); and Boys—Max Moffet (Jr.), Hayden Hilbrink (Jr.), Emerson Lowry (So.), Jack Gasper (So.), and Donovan Gosa (So.).

SJH Track opens the 2023 season at Smith Center

This Thursday the Stockton Junior High Track Team will open its 2023 season when they travel to Smith Center for the meet which is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. Coaches Jen Kesler, Paige Baird, Laura Moffet and Alexa Rogers have 22 boys and 17 girls on their 39-person roster.

Basart places third at Emporia State Relays

Body
Rylan Basart, a redshirt freshman at the University of Nebraska-Kearney and a specialist on the UNK football team, kicked off his spring track season with a third-place finish in the Javelin at the Emporia State Relays. The Relays, which were held Thursday through Saturday of last week, was UNK’s first outdoor competition of the spring.
