In their final games of the regular season, the Stockton Tigers girls’ and boys’ basketball teams were defeated by the Phillipsburg Panthers in a Mid-Continent League match-up. The games, which were played last Tuesday in Phillipsburg, were tough ones for the Stockton teams with the Lady Tigers falling 69-25, and the Tiger Boys on the short end of an 81-24 score.

Class 1A Div. II Substate basketball action began last week for the Stockton Tigers with the girls playing their quarterfinal game against Thunder Ridge at Kensington on Thursday night, and the Tiger Boys traveling to Beloit for their contest with St. John’s/Tipton on Friday. The sixth-seeded Lady Tigers (6-13) fell to Thunder Ridge (11-9), the tourney’s third seed, by a score of 49-30. The Stockton boys (0-19), seeded seventh, were defeated by second-seeded St. John’s/ Tipton (15-5) 62-16.

The Solomon Valley ARC Larks represented our area well after sending teams to Great Bend on Saturday, February 25, to compete in a basketball tournament. Besides the Larks, other teams competing included Hays, Dodge City, and Great Bend.
