The Plainville High School baseball team, under the direction of coaches Ryan Becker and Wade Ditter, came out swinging to open the 2026 season, but has since worked through a challenging mid-season stretch.

The Stockton Junior High track teams kicked off their season on Thursday, April 9, at the Lakeside Meet in Downs, turning in a number of strong performances across multiple events and grade levels. The 8th-grade girls led the way for the Tigers, highlighted by several top finishes.

Stockton High School senior Cheyenne Hoeting wasted no time making her mark on the 2026 track season, breaking her own school record in the 3200-meter run at the Tigers’ season-opening meet in Hoxie last Friday.

The Plainville Cardinals turned in a strong early- season performance at the Hoxie Invitational track meet last Friday, with the boys capturing the team title and the girls finishing third. The Cardinal boys claimed first place with 138 points, outpacing Quinter (117) and Hoxie (106).

The Stockton High School golf team has released an updated schedule for the 2026 season. Competing at the junior varsity level, the Tigers opened their schedule this week in WaKeeney and will continue on the road next Thursday at a tournament hosted by Wheatland/ Grinnell.
