Body Stockton sophomore Johnny Hamel picked up where he left off last season when, as a freshman, he earned a 13th-place medal at the 1A State Cross Country Meet with a time of 17:33.

Body The Stockton Junior High Lady Tigers opened the season with two wins on Monday, August 30 following the triangular held in Stockton. The the Lady Tigers’ A Team downed Trego 25-23, 25-21, and then took care of Ellis 25-19, 25-27, 15-13.

Body Last Thursday the Stockton Junior High Tigers hosted the Trego Golden Eagles in Mid-Continent Elementary League volleyball and football action. The Stockton volleyball girls were defeated in each of their matches.

Body In the varsity girls’ opening matches of the 2021 volleyball season, the Stockton Lady Tigers traveled to Phillipsburg to take on Ellis and the host Lady Panthers in a triangular. Stockton faced the Lady Railers in the first match, falling in three sets, 14-25, 25-16, 18-25.

Body The Stockton Tigers were at home for their season opener last Friday, taking on the Thunder Ridge Longhorns in 8-man football action at Tiger Stadium. The talented Thunder Ridge team picked up a 70-12 victory over Stockton, dropping the Tigers to 0-1 on the young season.

Body The Stockton Lady Tiger JV Volleyball Team earned a second-place finish at their season-opening JV Volleyball Tournament held in Phillipsburg last Saturday. The Lady Tigers played in Pool B along with Ellis TMP and Russell.

Body Cole Reif recently interviewed Stockton High School graduate Bill Maddy, and with Reif’s permission, we are reprinting it for our Sentinel readers. Maddy currently teaches and coaches at Great Bend High School. He is the son of Bill and Connie Maddy of Stockton.

Body The September 16th Sentinel will include our annual Homecoming Feature, with individual pictures of the Tiger athletes (football, volleyball and cross country), coaching staff, Cheer and Dance sponsored by local merchants, organizations, and individuals.

Body The Stockton Junior High Volleyball Team will open its season next Monday, August 30 when the Lady Tigers host Ellis and Trego in a triangular. Action is set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
