Kathleen Mary Brown, age 78, of Hill City, Kansas, passed away January 2, 2023. She was born Kathleen Mary Newell May 2, 1944, in Damar, Kansas. She was the second daughter born to Lawrence and Rita (Brin) Newell. As she grew so did the family—a total of nine children.

Richard B. “Dick” Cherry, age 95, Plainville, passed Friday, January 6, 2023, at Redbud Village in Plainville. He was born April 16, 1927, in Coldwater, Kansas to Blanche (Newton) Stanfield.

Daryl Lynn Novotny, age 81, of Stockton, passed away on January 4, 2023, at the Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, Neb., at the age of 81. He was born on June 15, 1941, to Ludvik and Zella “Sally” (Drennan) Novotny in Stockton. He married Pamela Kiehne on May 27, 1962, in Chicago, Ill.

Robert E. “Bob” McCall, of Woodston, Kansas, passed away on January 4, 2023, at the Parkview Care Center in Osborne, Kansas, at the age of 100. He was born on November 29, 1922, to Henry and Emma (Vanderlip) McCall in Ash Rock Township north of Woodston.

Carol “Ann” Barnett, age 78, of Concordia, Kansas passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia.  She was born on March 2, 1944 in Superior, Neb., to Delbert J. and E. Carol (Gridley) Jeppesen. She graduated from Ruskin High School in 1963.

Refinna Ladean “Betty” Keyes, of Plainville, passed away on January 1, 2023, at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg at the age of 75. She was born on February 27, 1947, to Levi Bassel and Mary Alice (Reynolds) Hoskins in Enid, Okla. She was married to Stanley Keyes in 1967.

Dorothy Lea (Wagner) Voss, 85, passed away December 31, 2022, at the Graham County Hospital in Hill City. She was born October 26, 1937, at her home in rural Graham County, Kansas, to Russell and Lila Grace (Crawford) Wagner. She was the middle of five children.

Carol Kay Whisman of Palco, KS, passed away on December 31, 2022, at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, Kan., surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer, at the age of 70. She was born on September 2, 1952, in Hays, Kan., to George and Berdena (Veatch) Whisman.

Glenn E. Crawford, age 82, of Natoma, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays. He was born Nov. 26, 1940, on the family farm in Osborne County. He was the son of Lloyd and Lucy (Robertson) Crawford.

Clifford Harry Winters, age 78, passed away on December 29, 2022, at Salina Regional Health Center. He was born September 29, 1944, in Concordia, to Mark and Mabel Winters. Cliff attended school in Aurora and graduated from Miltonvale in 1962.
