Former Woodston resident Thomas “Tom” K. Hull, 79, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022 in Downs.

Visitation will be Friday, July 8, 2022, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home in Stockton.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 9, at 10:00 a.m., at the Stockton United Methodist Church in Stockton. Burial will be in Spring Branch Cemetery, Woodston.

Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church-Stockton.

Velma Mona Garvert passed into her heavenly home on June 25, 2022 at the Silverleaf Group Home in Plano, Texas at the age of 91.

She was born on November 3, 1930 in Palco, Kansas to Frank and Elizabeth (Desmarteau) Marcotte. Velma was united in marriage to Donald Garvert and the couple was blessed with six children: Terrance (Terry), Mark, Randall (Randy), Donna, Roger, and Kay.

Former Hays resident, Eunice Agnes Hamel, age 87, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, at her home in Russell, Kansas.

She was born May 29, 1935, in Damar, Kansas, to Armond Ernest and Ruby Amanda (Thibault) Newell. She married Robert Wilford Hamel on September 13, 1953, at Damar. He preceded her in death on January 29, 1978.

Dr. Roelfs was born on November 18th, 1936, and raised on a wheat farm near Stockton, Kansas.

Debbie Ann (Sander) Wallace, Plainville, passed away on June 22, 2022, in Hays, Kansas at the young age of 52 following her battle with cancer.

She was born to Delbert and Rita (Baxter) Sander on October 22, 1969, in Plainville, Kansas. She was blessed with three children: Deven, Dylan, and Dayton.

Debbie grew up in Stockton where she graduated with the Class of 1988. She then furthered her education at Manhattan Vo-Tech and was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She went to work for KDOT as an engineering recruiter and worked there until her untimely passing.

Marla Goodman, 75, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022.

She was born July 10, 1946, in Webster, Kansas. She grew up in western Kansas in Webster, Covert, and Stockton. She attended college at Fort Hays State University, where she met her husband, Clyde, of Ness City.

Veryl (Joe) Allen Switzer, Sr.

Veryl (Joe) Allen Switzer, Sr. went to be with the Lord on June 4, 2022, after complications from a stroke.

Veryl was born on August 6, 1932 in Nicodemus, Kansas to Frederick L. Switzer and Ora T. (Wellington) Switzer. He was the youngest of six. His dad was credited with giving Veryl the name ‘Joe’, because he thought Veryl sounded like a girl’s name. Veryl has been quoted as saying that he didn’t know what his real name was until he got to college.
