JANUARY WAS SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION MONTH. Our Stockton USD No. 271 school board members supported and helped lead our district through an unprecedented pandemic this year. School board members develop policies and make decisions that help shape the future of our education system.

The Rooks County Health Center (RCH), the Rooks County Health Department and Post Rock Family Medicine provided mass COVID-19 vaccinations in the old Dessin Fournir building in Plainville last Saturday, January 30th.

The annual Rooks County Conservation District meeting was held on Monday, February 1st at the Rooks County Fairgrounds Harding Hall. The Come-and-Go event took place from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. before the meeting started.

A significant winter storm with heavy snow impacted all of north central Kansas and south central Nebraska early Monday morning, January 25th, with snow accumulations of six to eight inches reported throughout the area. In some areas, wind gusts were clocked at 30 to 35 m.p.h.
