There are some weeks in our lives that we would just as soon forget…or at least not repeat. Jim Logback, editor for The Hill City Times, recently experienced one of those, and chronicled it in his weekly Graham Crackers column from the February 4 issue of The Times.

Jon Jones met with the Stockton City Commission on Tuesday, February 2nd to inquire about the zoning regulations for putting a container (POD) on his land in Stockton that is zoned commercial. He also asked why containers are not allowed in residential areas.

During the Stockton USD No. 271 Board of Education meeting held on Monday, February 1st, Stockton Seniors Logan Winklepleck, Jace Hull and Chloe Plumer were present to ask permission for an additional travel day for the annual senior class trip. The trip will be to Grand Lake, Colorado in March.

Macy Odle of Stockton was named to the Cloud County Community College Fall 2020 Honor Roll. To be named to this honor roll, students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours and earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 to 3.899.

Fort Hays State University has released the names of 1,723 students who earned places on the Deans Honor Roll for the fall 2020 semester. Among those are a nice number of students from Rooks County.

Gunner Kerns, Claire McClellan and Kathryn McClellan, all of Plainville, are among the nearly 5,000 Kansas State Univesity students who have earned semester honors for their academic performance in the Fall 2020 semester.

The Rooks County Commissioners reviewed and signed the Rooks County COVID pay policy for the employees at the start of the meeting held on Tuesday, January 26th. The employees can use either personal time or receive 2/3 pay if they need to be quarantined.
