Church Directory a new addition to the Sentinel

The Stockton Sentinel has a new addition to our paper this week… a Church Directory. We have had people in the past ask that we have something of this nature, and we feel now is the time to do it. We hear too often of churches closing, or, for those still open, experiencing a declining attendance.

Moisture accumulation for the year 2021

In 2021, Stockton had 19 inches of snow and 18.1 inches of rain accumulation. In 2020, snow accumulation was 5.5 inches with Stockton receiving 19.6 inches rain as measured at the Stockton City Power Plant.

City finishes up year with short meeting

The Stockton City Commission held its meeting on Tues., Dec. 21st and began with the approval of the Consent Agenda. Included in the Agenda were the Solomon Valley Manor gross payroll in the amount of $51,954,86, the Solomon Valley Manor warrants in the amount of $49,137.

Prairie Land employees take on food drive challenge

On Giving Tuesday, November 30, 2021, Prairie Land Electric Cooperative, Inc. issued a holiday challenge to its 84 employees. The goal was to donate 10 items per employee for their local food banks. This was about one item per day until the challenge end date of December 10, 2021.

The cooperative held a holiday challenge for its 84 employees, hoping each employee would donate 10 items to go towards their local food banks in the areas they serve. Their contributions far exceeded expectations—1,573 pantry items and $910. The Stockton Food Pantry received three boxes of food, a donation check and cash to help towards providing food for those in need.

Merchants await first baby of 2022

The New Year is just arriving, and Stockton merchants are preparing to greet the first baby born in 2022 with many fine gifts. Last year’s Stork Derby was won by Avery Lynn Kuhlmann, the daughter of Shelby and Mitchell Kuhlmann of Stockton, who made her appearance on Monday, February 8th at 5:05 p.
