Meet Kari Becker, Stockton’s new first-grade teacher

Kari Becker graduated from Russell High School in 2011, and then received her bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Fort Hays State University in 2017. Since that time she has taught second grade in Tribune for one year, taught 2-5 high incidence special education in Russell for two years, and then taught second grade in Natoma for the past two years. She will now teach first grade in Stockton this school year.

SCF donates school supplies for children & staff at Stockton

A few weeks ago the employee activity committee at the Stockton Correctional Facility (SCF) was brainstorming ideas to help give back to the community. Since August was fast approaching, and with it the start of school, the committee ran with the idea to ask the staff to donate school supplies. Barbara Ard, one of the committee members stated, “I loved the idea. I have kids, and as a struggling parent when mine were in school, it was a great way to give back.”

Keller earns distinction at Wichita State University

Wichita State University has announced the names of more than 3,500 students who were on the WSU dean’s honor roll for spring 2021, and among those is Hayley Keller of Palco. To be included on the dean’s honor roll, a student must be enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours) and earn at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale..

The Rooks County Commissioners toured the fairgrounds during their regular morning meeting on Tuesday, August 10th, but before they adjourned to the Fair Office, they conducted business at the courthouse.

Angela Rhoden will be teaching first grade

Angela Rhoden grew up in Endicott, Nebraska, a small town outside of Fairbury, Nebraska. She graduated from Fairbury Junior/Senior High School in 2013 and then attended Wayne State College. She graduated in May of 2018 with a degree in Elementary Education (K-8) with a K-6 Special Education endorsement.
