Rooks County Economic Development hosted a Business Recognition reception Monday evening, Dec. 15, recognizing local employers and entrepreneurs whose work is drawing attention beyond the county line.

A crew from the Kansas Geological Survey, based at the University of Kansas, along with staff from three field offices of the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Water Resources, will be in western Kansas to measure groundwater levels the first week of January 2026.

The Stockton USD #271 Board of Education met on Monday, December 8th, for its regular monthly meeting in the Board Room. After president Chad Sterling called the meeting to order, the first order of business was the approval of the Consent Agenda.

Tuesday— Spanish rice with group beef, California blend vegetables, bread, gelatin with fruit. Wednesday— Tater tot casserole, mixed vegetables, bread, tropical fruit. The Council of the City of Woodston met in the Council Chamber at the City Hall on Monday, November 10th, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. Mayor April Yakish called meeting to order with council members Kate Terry, Thomas Yakish, Bill Dibble, Charles O’Neill, and Larry Morgan present.

The Stockton FFA chapter is celebrating another round of impressive achievements following recent contests. At the FFA Food Science, Milk Quality & Produce Contest held on November 12 at Logan, the Stockton FFA Food Science team delivered a strong performance, with Mia Odle securing fifth place individually and the team earning fifth place overall.

“Don’t be afraid. Don’t be silent, I am with you, and I am in control.” These words were spoken by the Lord to Paul in a vision while Paul was preaching to the people of Corinth, Greece, approximately 20 years after the resurrection of Jesus. Those words of encouragement stayed with Paul and led him to teach for a year and a half.
