The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) issued their latest public health advisory update due to blue-green algae last Friday afternoon, Webster Reservoir remains in an Active 'Warning' Advisory.

The menus for the week beginning Monday, July 17, are as follows: Monday— Goulash, peas and carrots, bread, hot cinnamon pears. Tuesday— Baked fish, macaroni and cheese, winter blend vegetables, bread, rosy applesauce. Wednesday— Pulled pork, baked beans, brownie, bun, cantaloupe.

For the past year, Humanities Kansas has had the pleasure of working with Angela Bates, Ashley Adams, and LueCreasea Horne at Nicodemus Historical Society to bring the Smithsonian traveling exhibition, “Voices and Votes: Democracy in America,” to Nicodemus.

The Pride of Texas Shows Carnival is going to be at this year’s Rooks County Free Fair and now is the time to buy your tickets for the rides! Advance armbands are $25.00 apiece and can be purchased at the Rooks County Free Fair Office. During the Fair, the armbands will be $30.00 apiece.

The Sentinel will be short-staffed next week, so we are asking for early copy for the July 20th edition. All news and ads need to be turned in by this Friday, July 14th, by 5:00 p.m. The paper will still be printed and mailed out at its usual time.

The Nova Theatre’s next FREE summer movie is Wednesday, July 19th, at 1:00 p.m. The movie is “The Secret Life Of Pets,” rated PG.

The Rooks County Free Fair is coming up fast, so the Fair Office is now open in anticipation of the annual event! Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please go to www.rookscountyfreefair.

Sign up now for the Main Street Christian Church Vacation Bible School at 602 Main Street in Stockton! The event will be held Wednesday, July 26th through Friday, July 28th from 5:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Parents can sign up children ages PreK through fifth grade this fall by email at mscc602@gmail.

The Stockton Recreation’s 4th annual 3-Man Scramble Golf Tournament is Saturday, July 22nd, at the Rooks County Golf Course. Now is the time to sign up for $150.00 per team.
