There will be a government surplus commodities distribution on Monday, March 23rd in Stockton. The distribution will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Mark your calendars for the Town Hall Meeting on Saturday, March 28th, at the Plainville High School Auditorium at 202 SE Cardinal Avenue (south side of the street). The meeting will take place from 10:25 a.m. to 11:25 a.m., featuring state legislators Senator Elaine Bowers, Senator Rick Billinger, and Representative Ken Rahjes.

The menus for the Senior Centers in Rooks County for the week beginning Monday, March 23, are as follows: Monday—Chicken strips, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, bread, tropical fruit. Tuesday— Hamburger patty with lettuce, onion, and tomato, macaroni salad, bun, applesauce. Wednesday—Chicken and rice casserole, brussel sprouts, bread, peaches, cookie. Thursday—Beef pot roast in gravy, mashed potatoes, seasoned carrots, bread, strawberries and bananas. Friday—Baked fish, macaroni and cheese, mixed vegetables, mandarin oranges.

It’s the middle of March and the Stockton merchants are still waiting for the first little Miss or Mister of 2026! The merchants really stepped it up this year with many fine gifts of cash, merchandise, and gift certificates for Mommy, Daddy, and baby (babies)!

The annual Solomon Valley Pheasants Forever Banquet will be held on Saturday, April 11th at the St. Thomas Parish Center (804 Main Street) in Stockton.

The regular monthly meeting of the Rooks County Health Center Board of Directors will be held on Tuesday, March 24th, at 6:00 p.m. in the hospital’s meeting room. The public is encouraged to attend.

Serving up regular or blueberry pancakes, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, and biscuits & gravy will be the Palco Lions Club members at their upcoming Pancake Feed. This delicious event will be held on Sunday, March 29th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Palco Township Hall, so mark your calendars now!

Tuesday—Chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, beets, bread, strawberries and bananas. Wednesday— Taco burger with lettuce, tomato, and cheese, mixed vegetables, bun, gelatin with fruit. Thursday—Ham and beans, California blend vegetables, cornbread, cinnamon apples. Friday—Cook’s Choice.
