Judicial Sale of Rooks County Properties Scheduled for Sept. 3
A public judicial sale of selected Rooks County properties will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, at the Rooks County Courthouse, 115 N. Walnut, Stockton.
The sale, ordered by the District Court of Rooks County, will be conducted by the Rooks County Sheriff's Office, with properties selling to the highest bidder.
Anyone wishing to bid must first register with the Rooks County Treasurer's Office, located on the second floor of the courthouse, no later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2. Registration opens Monday, Aug. 3, and bidders must be registered in advance in order to participate.
Payment for purchased properties must be made before leaving the sale and must be by cash or check only. In addition to the winning bid, purchasers will be responsible for a $21 deed recording fee and a $100 court cost fee for each parcel purchased.
According to the notice, all prior liens and delinquent taxes included in the foreclosure action will be discharged and will not become the responsibility of the purchaser.
