Enjoy the Rooks County Free Fair! The Nova Theatre in Stockton will be closed this weekend (August 9th, 10th, and 11th) so everyone can enjoy the Rooks County Free Fair! See you at the Fair! And then get ready to enjoy the blockbuster “Twisters,” coming next to the Nova!

The Stockton Food Pantry will be open next Thursday, August 15th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

As is our custom during the week of the Rooks County Free Fair, the Stockton Sentinel will be closed in the afternoons Tuesday through Friday, August 6th to August 9th. Our deadline for the Thursday, August 15th issue will be the regular Monday at 12 noon deadline.

The menus for the-Stockton Senior Center for the week beginning Monday, August 5, are as follows: Monday— Chicken strips, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and carrots, bread, pineapple. Tuesday—Closed for election.

All Rooks County registered voters are urged to exercise their right to vote in the primary election on Tuesday, August 6. Please bring a photo ID, such as a driver’s license, to the polls.

Come support the Rooks County youth at the 4-H and FFA Livestock Sale on Friday, August 9th. The event will be held at the Sutor-Blauer Arena at the Rooks County Fairgrounds. The Buyers’ Hospitality Hour will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the sale to start promptly at 6:00 p.m.

Make plans now to participate in the 4-H Silent Food Auction to be held during the Rooks County Free Fair. The ten items for auction will be on display in Harding Hall and ready for bids by Monday evening, August 5th.
