The Stockton USD 271 Board of Education will host a Focus Group meeting on Thursday, April 18th, at 1:45 p.m. in the District Office (421 Main Street).

A garage sale will be at the Solomon Valley Manor’s old facility (315 South Ash in Stockton) this weekend, Saturday, April 13th from (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) and on Sunday April 14th from (1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

The Rooks County Historical Society and Museum, located at 921 S. Cedar Street, Stockton, Kansas, extends a public invitation to its Annual Meeting on Sunday, April 21st, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. The event will recap the Society’s 2023 moments and offer sneak peeks of some upcoming events for 2024.

The Stockton Food Pantry is open next Thursday, April 18th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Food Pantry is located at 602 Main Street in the alley behind the Main Street Christian Church. The Pantry is discontinuing the fresh produce until further notice.

It’s time to do your spring cleaning! A citywide cleanup (trash customers within the Stockton City limits) will be held during the week of April 29th through May 3rd. Regular trash routes will be picked up as normally scheduled, with additional city trucks following to pick up furniture, tree branches, appliances (Freon must be drained from refrigerators), yard waste, and tires (limit 5).

The Kansas Department of Transportation expectsed to begin work on a resurfacing project on a portion of U.S. 283 in Norton County beginning this week.
