Body The Sentinel will require early copy for next week’s issue because of the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 31st. The Sentinel office will be closed but we will print as usual on Wednesday morning so there will NOT be an early issue for next week.

Body The Stockton United Methodist Church (204 North Elm) is excited to share that Mike and Glenda Mann will be back this summer for their Vacation Bible School (V.B.S.) starting on Monday, June 7th through Friday, June 11th. The school will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Body The Monroe-Taylor-Barnes V.F.W. Post 8873 in Stockton encourages all veterans (members and non-members) and Auxiliary members to fall out on Memorial Day, May 31st. Veterans are to meet at the Post Home at 8:30 a.m. for services.

Body The Stockton High School Alumni Association WILL NOT BE HOLDING its annual banquet this year due to COVID. We hope to see you next year! On behalf of the Woodston Alumni Association, Darrell Rubottom will hold a brief memorial service on Sunday, May 30th at 2:00 p.m.

Body Steve Reed and Stanley Reed both of Denver, Colo., and Jill Blackwill of Quinter are hosting a celebration in honor of their parents’ 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Body The menus for the week beginning Monday, May 24th, are as follows: Monday—Salisbury steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, bread, pears. Tuesday—Oven-baked chicken, potato salad, mandarin oranges, bread, pudding.

Body This 1978 musical classic depicts the lives of greaser Danny Zuko and Australian transfer student Sandy Olsson when they meet at the beach and fall in love, never to meet again since Sandy is headed back to Australia at the end of the summer.

Body Are you interested in bringing an “Arts Council” back to Stockton and Rooks County? Before the pandemic, a a small group of people had started meeting to brainstorm ideas about reviving an Arts Council in Stockton.
