Sharks make a splash at the Kensington Meet

The Stockton Tiger Sharks Swim Team continues to make a splash in regular season competition. The Sharks traveled to Kensington on Saturday, June 17th, competing in 32 individual events and 18 relays.

The Stockton Tiger Shark Swim Team found themselves on the road Saturday, June 10th, for their second meet of the young season. Thirty-three Tiger Shark swimmers competed in 85 individual events and 18 relays, bringing home 21 first-place awards.

The Stockton Tiger Sharks dove right in to the 2023 swim season, getting off to a strong start on Saturday, June 3rd, when they hosted several teams at the City of Stockton Swimming Pool. It was the first competition of the year for the locals.

Emerson Lowry competes in State Golf Championships

Sophomore Emerson Lowry competed in the KSHSAA 2023 Boys Golf State Championships held at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course in Emporia on May 22 and 23. Although Lowry’s score of 123 for the 18 holes on Monday did not qualify him for action on Tuesday, he got a taste of state competition, and can set a goal to make it back next year.

The individual boys’ title was won by sophomore Spencer Coup of Solomon, who shot a 12-over 154 (77-77) total for the two days. Montezuma-South Gray won the team title.

Five SHS Tigers compete at State Track Championships

Five members of the Tiger Track Team left for Wichita last Thursday to prepare to compete in the KSHSAA 2023 State Track & Field Championships held at Cessna Stadium in Wichita. Katlyn Couse, Ava Dix, Cappi Hoeting, Cheyenne Hoeting and Saj Snyder all competed on Friday as Cheyenne ran the 3200 Meters at 7:45 a.m., while the 4 x 400 Meter Relay of Snyder, Couse, Dix and Cappi Hoeting (who filled in for Ashlyn Hahn), ran just before 12:30 p.m.
