The Stockton Lady Tigers opened the volleyball season last Friday with dominating wins over their opponents. After a somewhat sluggish start in the first match against Thunder Ridge, the Stockton girls took care of business, defeating the Lady Longhorns, 25-15, 25-9. The Lady Tigers then downed the host Natoma Tigers 25-11, 25-11. In JV action, the Lady Tigers were defeated in both matches by Thunder Ridge, 23-25, 21-25.

Jim Ottele, who was seriously injured while racing his motorcycle on Friday night of the Rooks County Free Fair, remains a patient at CHI Health Good Samaritan hospital in Kearney, Neb. where he was LifeWatched following his accident. He is being treated for a Level 2 brain injury, as well as numerous broken bones and a punctured lung. He also developed pneumonia, but it seems to be improving.
