On Tuesday night, June 24th at the Rooks County Golf Course, the men’s playing group had 27 players participating in a 3-man scramble. The randomly drawn teams were pretty even, with three teams tying for first place. The winners were Phil, Tran, Logan, Blake, Bill, Sam, Parker, Hunter, and David. Sponsored by Kester Auto Parts, the Closest 2nd Shot On #5 prize went to Dawson, and Bill won Closest To The Pin on #8. The Tuesday night men’s group tees off around 6:00 p.m.

The Stockton Tiger Sharks competed in their second of four regular season swim meets on Saturday, June 14th—this time at home—at the Stockton Swimming Pool. The Stockton swimmers earned 46 first-place finishes.

Stockton can proudly claim that it is home to some of the best bowlers in the state. Five bowlers from 183 Lanes participated in the 85th Annual Handicap Bowling Tournament at the 2025 Kansas State USBC Open Championship, which took place at Let's Roll Seneca in Wichita over six weekends from March to May.

The 3rd Plainville Recreation Junior Golf Camp concluded on Wednesday, June 18th, with a Four-Person Scramble. The winning team, consisting of Parker Krob, Lennox Fuzzell, Keegan Breeze, and Henry States, finished with a score of 6 Under par, which would have been enough to win the Tuesday night men’s scramble. It seems that drills and lessons can indeed improve your golf scores.

The Stockton Tiger Sharks Swim Team began its 2025 swim season and eighth year of existence by traveling to its first meet on Saturday morning, June 1, in Alma, Neb. The Tiger Sharks dominated in their first meet, bringing home 40 first-place finishes—23 individual and 17 relays.

The 3rd Plainville Recreation Commission Junior Golf Camp has been taking place this week, from Monday to Wednesday, June 16-18. Forty-one young golfers, from 2nd through 12 graders, are participating. Twenty-one 2nd through 5th graders trained from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and nineteen 6th through 12th graders drilled from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In addition to kids from Rooks County, there were youngsters from Hill City and Logan.

On Tuesday night, the men’s playing group had only 13 players for a Three-Man Scramble. Cold winds and rain kept attendance down.

Stockton’s Saj Snyder and Cheyenne Hoeting capped off their junior track seasons with 8thplace medals at the 2025 KSHSAA State Track and Field Championships held last Friday and Saturday at Cessna Stadium in Wichita.
