The Plainville girls and boys wrestling teams competed in the 2025-26 Mid-Continent League Wrestling Tournament on Friday, January 30, in Wa-Keeney, hosted by Trego Community High School. The Lady Cardinals were led by two league champions, Kaeleigh Klein and Lillian Garcia.

Lady Cardinals suffer OT loss in MCL Tournament action

The Plainville Lady Cardinals saw their Mid-Continent League Basketball Tournament run come to an end with a narrow overtime loss to Phillipsburg on Thursday, January 22, in Norton, falling 53-50 in their second meeting of the season. Phillipsburg had edged Plainville 46-42 in the teams’ first matchup, and this rematch proved just as tightly contested.

Tiger boys go 2-1 in games at home

The Stockton Tigers boys basketball team had a busy week on their home court last week, hosting three opponents in five days and finishing with a 2–1 record in varsity play. Stockton opened the week on Monday against Natoma and came away with a 55–41 victory.

Twenty-two boys and girls showed up at the Stockton High School Gym for the annual St. Thomas Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest on Wednesday, January 28th. The competition was fierce, with two age groups going head-tohead in tie-breakers after the initial competition.
