The Stockton Tigers’ challenging football season came to an end last Thursday when the Tigers fell on the road in cross district action at Ness City, 74-0. Stockton finishes its season with a record of 0-9, while the Eagles improved to 3-6.

Jonny Hamel gets new PR and is Regional Champion

The last race in which Jonny Hamel took first— the Mid-Continent League/ Phillipsburg Invitational on October 7—he ran away from the pack. Saturday’s first-place finish at the KSHSAA Class 1A Regional Cross Country Meet in Centralia had the same ending, but this one was even more exciting as, after running in second place for most of the race, he overtook senior Colby Hanzlicek from Wetmore in the final 50 meters to capture the gold medal.

SHS Lady Tigers’ season ends in Sub-State semifinals

The Stockton Lady Tigers Volleyball Team saw its season come to an end last Saturday after falling to Thunder Ridge in the semifinals of the Class 1A Div. I Sub-State Volleyball Tournament held in Osborne. The Lady Tigers, who had just two seniors, Olivia Dix and Janae Keller, on their varsity squad, finished the season with a record of 10-24.

SJH Basketball season opens on Tuesday

With warm temperatures still hanging around, it doesn’t seem possible that basketball season is upon us. However, next Tuesday, November 2, the Stockton Junior High Basketball Teams will be hosting Oakley in their season opener. Games are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
