Class 1A Cross Country Regional sites released

The Class 1A Regional Cross Country sites have been released with the Stockton heading to Centralia on Saturday, October 23. Other teams who will be competing at the Centralia City Lake are: Axtell, Beloit-St. John’s, Burlingame, Centralia, Clyde-Clifton Clyde, Downs-Lakeside, Frankfort, Glasco, Hanover, Highland-Doniphan West, Kensington-Thunder Ridge, Lebo, Lincoln, Linn, Mankato-Rock Hills, Miltonvale, Natoma, Onaga, Osborne, Scandia-Pike Valley, Solomon, Sylvan-Lucas Unified, Tescott, Topeka-Cair Paravel Latin School, Troy, Washington County, Wetmore, and Wilson. Racing will begin at 11:00 a.m. for the girls, with the boys to follow at 11:40 a.m.

Two more wins for the SHS Lady Tigers

The Stockton Lady Tigers added two more wins to their season total last week when they defeated the visiting Hill City Lady Ringnecks and Osborne Lady Bulldogs in a triangular on Tuesday. In the first match of the night, the Lady Tigers got by Hill City 26-24, 26-24.

Stockton girls assigned to the Osborne volleyball sub-state

The Stockton Lady Tigers have been assigned to play in the Class 1A Div. I Sub-State Volleyball Tournament to be held in Osborne on Saturday, October 23. Other teams at that site are: Clyde-Clifton Clyde, Downs-Lakeside, Kensington-Thunder Ridge, Mankato-Rock Hills, Osborne, and Wash‑ington County. The additional Regional sites are: Canton-Galva, Frankfort, Jetmore-Hodgeman County, Leoti-Wichita County, Moran-Maramaton Valley, Norwich, and Sylvan-Lucas Unified. The first-place team from each sub-state will advance to the state tournament which will be held in Dodge City on October 29 and 30.

Johnny Hamel wins MCL Cross Country Meet at Phillipsburg

TIGER SOPHOMORE JOHNNY HAMEL is the Mid-Continent League Cross Country Champion, running the 5K course at the Phillipsburg Golf Club on Thursday in a time of 18:23. Hamel beat the second-place finisher by 25 seconds. Others from Rooks County placing in the Top 10 were Michael Garvert and Cameron Lindsey from Plainville, who finished fifth and seventh respectively.

Top-seeded SJH Lady Tigers at home this Saturday for MCEL Tourney

This Saturday kicks off the start of the 2021 Mid-Continent Elementary League Volleyball Tournament and the Stockton Lady Tigers have played their way throughout the season to a number one seeding. The TMP Lady Monarchs are the number two seed, while the Norton Lady Jays are the third seed. Both TMP and Norton will also host pool play matches on Saturday.

Tiger harriers set season-best times at the Beloit Invitational

The Stockton Tiger Cross Country Team took advantage of a gorgeous day in Beloit last Thursday with all five runners setting season-best times. It was the first competition of the season that wasn’t run in 90+ temperatures, and it agreed with the Tiger harriers.

SHS Tigers fall at home to Hill City Ringnecks

The Stockton Tigers hosted Hill City last Friday in Mid-Continent League and district football action, and were defeated 69-0. The Ringnecks scored on the opening possession of the game to take a 7-0 lead, and on the ensuing short kick, Stockton mishandled the ball and Hill City was able to recover.
