The Stockton Tiger Sharks continued to navigate through their regular season schedule as they traveled to WaKeeney on Saturday, June 18th. According to Tiger Sharks Swim Coach Daphne Plumer, “Many of the swimmers were trying events they have never swam before and swimming extra events this week.

The Stockton Tiger Sharks continued their busy swim schedule and this past Saturday, the Sharks found themselves at home. They hosted the swim meet to Philipsburg, Kensington, Norton, and WaKeeney.

The Stockton Tiger Sharks Swim Team was on the road again—this time to Phillipsburg, where they competed in their second meet of the season on Saturday, Jun 11th. Stockton was well represented once again— this time with 35 swimmers competing in 111 events.

The Stockton High School Cheer Team recently attended UCA Cheer Camp at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina and the girls brought home several awards. “It was amazing how much the squad came together and gained confidence.

The Stockton Tiger Sharks got on their marks for the first time this season with a trip to Alma, Neb. All the relays (with the exception of one DQ), came away placing in the Top 20 in the league.

Rylan Basart, Stockton, has been selected to play as a member of the Division I West Squad in the 37th annual Kansas 8-Man All Star Game to be held in Beloit this Saturday. He is a 2022 graduate of Stockton High School and plans to attend the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

The Tiger Sharks opened the swim season last Saturday with a meet in Alma, Neb. Stockton’s 32 swimmers competed in 93 events, placing first in 33 of them! Due to being short-staffed this week, the results from the meet will appear in next week’s issue of the Sentinel!

RYLAN BASART AND KAELYN MEANS were Class 1A State medalists for the second year in a row. This year Basart was State Champion in Javelin, after placing fourth in 2021. Means was State Runner-Up in Discus, as she was in 2021, but this year she improved her distance by nearly 12 feet. Congratulations!

RESIDENTS OF THE STOCKTON CORRECTIONAL FACILITY played two pre-season softball games against members of the Stockton City League Team May 19th on the correctional facility grounds. The bleachers were full of spectators from the facility cheering on the home team who won 18-11 and 11-4.

Rylan Basart’s track season came to a fairy tale ending last Saturday when his final throw of the javelin was not only a PR, but it also earned him the title of Class 1A State Champion.
