Basart selected to play in 8-Man All Star Game

Rylan Basart, Stockton, has been selected to play as a member of the Division I West Squad in the 37th annual Kansas 8-Man All Star Game to be held in Beloit this Saturday. He is a 2022 graduate of Stockton High School and plans to attend the University of Nebraska at Kearney. At UNK Basart will study pre-engineering, throw the javelin for the track team, and will also be a walk-on for the Lopers football team as a kicker.

Tiger Shark swim meet results from Alma to appear next week

The Tiger Sharks opened the swim season last Saturday with a meet in Alma, Neb. Stockton’s 32 swimmers competed in 93 events, placing first in 33 of them! Due to being short-staffed this week, the results from the meet will appear in next week’s issue of the Sentinel!

State Medalists Rylan Basart and Kaelyn Means

RYLAN BASART AND KAELYN MEANS were Class 1A State medalists for the second year in a row. This year Basart was State Champion in Javelin, after placing fourth in 2021. Means was State Runner-Up in Discus, as she was in 2021, but this year she improved her distance by nearly 12 feet. Congratulations!

RESIDENTS OF THE STOCKTON CORRECTIONAL FACILITY played two pre-season softball games against members of the Stockton City League Team May 19th on the correctional facility grounds. Basart ends high school career as State Champion

Rylan Basart’s track season came to a fairy tale ending last Saturday when his final throw of the javelin was not only a PR, but it also earned him the title of Class 1A State Champion. Basart, who owned the top throw of 182-06 following prelims, led throughout the finals until Philip Doebele, a senior from Hanover, amassed a distance of 187-04 on his final toss of the competition to take over first place.

Five Tigers qualify for state track meet

Five Tiger athletes qualified for the 2022 State Track & Field Championships this weekend in Wichita, following their top four finishes at the Class 1A Regional Track Meet held last Friday in Colby. Rylan Basart, Kaelyn Means and Ava Dix punched their tickets in individual events, with the girls’ 4 x 100 Meter Relay of Katlyn Couse, Delany Snyder, Ava Dix and Jalia Creighton, also earning a spot with a first-place finish at Regionals.

RoCo Softball season comes to an end

The RoCo Softball Team’s season came to an end last Monday following its 16-0 loss to top-seeded Hoisington/Central Plains in the first round of Regionals. RoCo’s bats were pretty much silenced by the Cardinals’ pitcher, with Coryn Hahn being the only one to get a hit in the game.
