Sisters in Christ: The Stockton Church of Restoration (204 North Elm Street) wishes to invite you all to an empowering and uplifting event. The 2023 Women’s Retreat will be on Friday, March 3rd, and Saturday, March 4th.

The Stockton VFW Post #8873 will celebrate and honor the Legendary Brigadier General Robin Olds with a Mustache March Contest. This Challenge begins on Wednesday, March 1st, with contestants posting their “Before” (clean-shaven) picture on the Post’s Facebook page and then posting their “After” mustache picture on or before Friday, March 31st, and share.

A Youth Hunt for young hunters ages 11 through 15 will be held on Saturday, March 4th. For more information or to sign up, please call Staci Ketelsen at 785-4258328.

The Stockton Farmers Union Mercantile & Shipping Association’s Annual Expo (323 South Cedar) is Thursday, March 2nd, and Friday, March 3rd. The event will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Cookies will be served on both days. A Pancake Feed at Stockton City Hall (115 South Walnut) is on Friday, March 3rd, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The Stockton VFW Post #8873 wants chili cooks ready to claim bragging rights at their public Chili Cook-Off and Supper event set for Saturday, March 11th. The deadline to enter the contest is Wednesday, March 8th. Entry forms are available at the Post and through their Facebook page. It is free to enter the contest.

The menus for the week beginning Monday, February 20, are as follows: Monday—Polish sausage, macaroni and cheese, asparagus, bread, pears. Tuesday—Chicken noodle soup, coleslaw, crackers, orange/pineapple salad. Wednesday—Baked fish, parslied potatoes, stewed tomatoes, bread, peaches. Thursday—Taco burger with lettuce, tomato and onion, rice, bun, mixed fruit. Friday—Tuna salad, tomato soup, broccoli salad, crackers, applesauce.

Monday—No School. Tuesday—Go-Gurt, cook’s choice, fruit, juice, milk.

The annual St. Thomas Mardi Gras Dinner is this Sunday, February 19th serving from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the St. Thomas Parish Center in Stockton. On the menu for the 'Freewill Offering' meal is roast beef and ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade noodles, green beans, cole slaw, rolls, and dessert (cake or pie). If you are coming to pick up your meal, please come before 11:30 a.m.

Just a reminder that the Stockton Food Pantry is open every third Thursday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Food Pantry is located at 602 Main Street in the building behind the Main Street Christian Church Parsonage.
