As is our custom during the week of the Rooks County Free Fair, the Stockton Sentinel will be closed in the afternoons Tuesday through Friday, August 6th to August 9th. Our deadline for the Thursday, August 15th issue will be the regular Monday at 12 noon deadline.

The menus for the-Stockton Senior Center for the week beginning Monday, August 5, are as follows: Monday— Chicken strips, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and carrots, bread, pineapple. Tuesday—Closed for election. Wednesday— Ground beef stroganoff, mixed vegetables, no-bake cookie, strawberries, and bananas. Thursday— Liver and onions in gravy, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, bread, fruit crisp. Friday—Cook’s Choice.

4-H and FFA Livestock Sale to be held Friday, Aug. 9th

Come support the Rooks County youth at the 4-H and FFA Livestock Sale on Friday, August 9th. The event will be held at the Sutor-Blauer Arena at the Rooks County Fairgrounds. The Buyers’ Hospitality Hour will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the sale to start promptly at 6:00 p.m. Market Lambs, Market Steers, Market Goats, and Market Hogs will be sold.
