Come join the Stockton Methodist Church of Restoration during the Advent Season

The wonder and excitement of the Christmas Advent Season can easily get overshadowed by lights, bows, last-minute shopping, and visits to friends and family. In all the hustle and bustle, people often lose sight of what Advent is all about and what is most important about the season.

So the Stockton Methodist Church of Restoration (204 North Elm) is inviting everyone to join them during this Advent season with daily Facebook Devotions, Advent lunches, and their Sunday Advent sermon series.

Daily Devotions will be on their Facebook page starting this Sunday, December 1st, through Tuesday, December 31st. It will be a time each day for people to slow down, prepare their hearts, and focus on what matters the most: adoring our Savior Jesus. Each day will have a Devotion, prayer, and further reading.

The Advent lunches will be each Friday before Christmas on December 6th, 13th, and 20th, at 12:00 noon at the Fellowship Hall. It will be a time of connecting with one another and sharing a meal with a short Devotion and prayer. This fellowship time will allow everyone to pause for a moment and enjoy the laughter and joy of being a part of the community.

People can also join the Church on Sunday mornings as they hear about The Christmas Letters by Magrey R. DeVega. Worship is at 8:45 a.m. on December 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd. The Church will be decorated, and the Light of Christ will be shining.

Please come and join the Church as they journey through Romans, 1 John, Philippians, and Colossians. Come learn about the earliest attempts by the Church to understand and celebrate the Incarnation of Jesus Christ.

The Letters are written to guide, teach, and help us follow Christ. Come spend time with these Holy Words this Advent, and come to appreciate the meaning of Christ’s birth like never before.

Christmas Eve Service is Tuesday, December 24th at 8:30 p.m.
