The Rooks County Historical Society met at the museum on Sunday, March 20, at 2:00 p.m. President Alan Dinkel led the meeting with nine members attending. The February minutes and the treasurer’s report were given. Sue McFarland, museum coordinator, gave her report that the museum had 45 visitors last month, sixty-five “Names on the Wall” have been published, fifteen donors’ names have been processed, and the schoolroom and washroom displays are near completion.

The Hobart Homemakers FCE group met Monday, March 28, 2022 at the United Methodist Church in Stockton at 7 p.m. President Susan G. opened with the flag salute and Susan T. read the FCE Mission Statement. Roll call was "Do you know anyone with breast cancer?" It was answered by five members. The minutes and treasurer’s report from the last meeting were read and approved.

The local churches have announced their schedule for Holy Week and Easter. Everyone is encouraged to make services a part of their holiday and people are welcome to attend to any of the following: Assembly of God—Good Friday Service: 7:00 p.m.; Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m.

Of the many tasks that Bill Skinner has in retirement, one is the proper disposition of his family’s legacy items; i.e. papers, collections, newsletters, photos, etc. It is a slow process for Bill, but also an enjoyable and interesting task in many ways.

Values have been a hot topic lately, as Rooks County residents opened value notices. These values are not arrived at lightly. Work on the appraised value starts in October and finishes right at the first of the year. This year the agriculture values and vacant land values both saw very little movement.
